Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

Woolwich General Gordon Square June 9th 2012

A new production of ‘Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’ was performed live in General Gordon Square in Woolwich by 200 local children and young people, as part of celebrations by the UK’s newest Royal Borough to mark Her Majesty’s 60 years on the throne.

The performers, selected from primary schools and colleges, performed the original 20-minute version of the hit musical in front of the Big Screen in General Gordon Square, Woolwich SE18, before an audience of several hundred people.

This version of the hit musical, specially commissioned by the Royal Borough of Greenwich for the Diamond Jubilee celebrations, is a one-off revival of the Cantata version of the show, which was specially produced in 1977 for the Silver Jubilee. The performance was filmed by the BBC and beamed across its other live ‘big Screen’ sites in Great Britain and Northern Ireland on 4 June.

Music Room provided the sound and lighting equipment and 18 channels of Sennheiser head-worn radio mics.
