About the event

TARAN PRESENTS JAZZ

George Garford - saxophone

Kielan Sheard - double bass

Simon Lamb - drums

'Saxophonist/composer George Garford (Ideasthesia, Dreamscapes) joins bassist/composer Kielan Sheard (BBC Young Jazz Musician Finalist) and drummer/composer Simon Lamb (Camille Rose, Amy Gadiaga) in a dynamic trio that values deep listening, high level interaction and true spontaneity.

Each of the three London-based members are in-demand as sidemen and active bandleaders in their own right. They can regularly be heard contributing to the UK’s thriving jazz, new music and free improvisation scenes. Expect fresh interpretations of songbook material and headfirst dives into freeness.'

About Jazz Series at The Old LIbrary

Inspired by the gritty, arty culture of New Cross Gate, and the Old Library itself, Taran has put together a series of very exciting jazz gigs. The Credo of this series is to bring to the neighborhood very high quality jazz that is also fun. Veterans of the London jazz and improv scene will play on the same stage as some very promising young talent. This is jazz with an edge. And it swings. Hard.

With your support, this series can become a weekly programme.
